Small Town Man

This is just a simple letter from a very small town man
Who finally figured out…it’s he who understands.
No politician has a clue, they are lost in a world of what and who.
But a small town simple man…now he can understand.
The world is growing different, people want too much
It used to be a world of we…and now it is all about me.
Games are played in the name of peace
But no one plays the game with the thought of us
Political people say they care
But leave us all behind
Maybe now the time has come
For a small town man to make a stand
And bring back a world that is sane and has the future in its sights.

Stop the world and make it right
Bring back a time when honest was right
When a man stood up for the way of God
And the simple idea of what was right.
Give us this day our daily bread…..
And lead us not into temptation
This was a cry from all who cared
What we have lost from those who we trust.
Out world is waiting for someone to lead
Not a man with political greed
But a man who see’s a nation in need.

I watch the games on CSPAN and such
I see our leaders caught in a trap
Looking for gain and looking for might
There does not see to be a time when
Any are looking for right.
I’m just a simple man
But somehow I understand
That sometime’s you just have to take a stand.
And not be such a political man.

Our world is in danger
And leaders find no compromise
They just keep searching for that re-election theme
Without ever considering the needs of our land
They stay so out of touch and their political land
That they have somehow lost
The simple, everyday small town man.
Who only wants to see
The beauty of the words
My country tis of thee…..

But a man who see’s a nation that is in real need.

Now answers don’t come easy
And the world has complex ways
But if you bring it down to simple
The truth is there to stay.
Be honest with your neighbor
Be truthful in what you do
Take into count the others surrounding you.
If you want to make a difference
Be proud to take a stand
Never look down upon another man.
Listen to your people
They really understand
And always stay in touch with your
Inner small town man

Stop the world and make it right
Bring back a time when honest was right
When a man stood up for the way of God
And the simple idea of what was right.
Give us this day our daily bread…..
And lead us not into temptation
This was a cry from all who cared
What we have lost from those who we trust.
Out world is waiting for someone to lead
Not a man with political greed
But a man who see’s a nation in need.

A hope an a prayer are all we have left
That the voice of a land will finally be heard.
We long for a place the way we recall
When political…meant for us all
Let search for our roots and find our own way
Because without those thoughts for a better day
We will loose our American way.
And that would take our world away
Please listen to what a small town man
Just what he has to say.
Not a man with political greed
But a man who see’s a nation in need.
